This isn't an Elf though, but it doesn't mean that to them she doesn't rule in their minds. She's a Vala, a kind of archangel, or goddess, a.k.a. "Queen of Stars". She's the most beloved Vala for the Elves.
Ah well that would still mean the elves are most likely to portray her to be like them as well, explaining the ears, angular far, etc...but obviously much ..um...divine? But yes, I see now she could easily be some kind of deity by the looks of her.
Yes, you could say deity. She embodies the light, has created the stars and is able to hallow things so no evil could touch them without burning. She's also portrayed as a supreme beauty - too fair for words.
Eru (the main deity of Middle-Earth) designed the Elves to resemble the Valar. Some clans or lineages of High Elves live close to her in the slopes of her mountain, namely the Vanyar, so I'm sure that some Elves would know for sure what she looks like. At least one of their songs call her "Snow-White".
Elbereth is also her better known name in Middle-Earth.
